Bill Kazmeier, World's Strongest Man

I recently found this pic in my files from years ago.

In this picture, I gave Bill Kazmeier, World's Strongest Man, tips on how to get larger arms and how to fill out T-shirts a little bit better.

Later, I gave him some pointers on developing larger trapezius muscles.

Look at how appreciative he is to receive my sage advice!

Studying is just wasting Xbox time

An hilarious quote, if not pathetically true. Over 8 hours a day spent on watching the tube, according to this story.  The youngster quoted above said he pays attention as hard as possible in class so he can spend less time studying and more time playing XBox at home.

If that kid isn't fat yet, give him a year--he will be.  Let's face it--obese kids are now the norm, rather than the exception, which is the opposite of when I was in school.  We had Nintendo and Atari, but we also had parents who forced us to get our butts outside.

Parents--you're 99% responsible for how fat or how fit your kids are.  If your kid has Type II diabetes, blood pressure problems, self-esteem issues stemming from their obesity, guess what--you're at fault.  Don't let your kids eat junk food, don't let the go a day without playing...vigorously.

And if you're heavy too, get down with them and play along.  There are 24 hours in a day, you work 8-12 of them.  That leaves 8 for sleep and 4 for play.   And I don't mean XBox play.

New Program: Ouch!

I just started a new program this week. It's one I designed about 8 years ago, and it's a doozy. I end up hitting each muscle twice per week during a 6x/week program.

It's Friday, I'll be heading to the gym in about an hour, and ouch. My pecs, shoulders, and arms are really sore. Looking forward to today's workout to make me really sore over the weekend.

I even upped the protein--I'm up to about 120 to 140 grams per day, which usually helps with healing when I start a butt-kicking program like this one. I suspect that if I add an extra couple minutes of stretching, it will still hurt as badly, just not as longly.

I have to keep thinking, I can do this...I'm a machine. I can do this...I'm a machine.
