By Popular Demand: December Boot Camp!

Let's hold on....

Indoor boot camp at 360 Gymnastics is no longer a viable option. Tort reform being just a happy idea, it won't work without extra bucks.

So we have a couple options--we can do it in Kiwanis Park again, or we can meet at Beachview Park in Clarkston, which would give us some other options.

Without the indoor option, are people still interested?

HOW-TO SIGN UP

So the deal is simple. If you already signed a waiver in October, cool. If not, click here.

If you want to pay by cash or check ($10) per visit, great. If you're the kind who needs to have already paid to get yourself out of bed, or you just want a discount, click here.

December Boot Camp? Anyone? Anyone?

If you missed today's boot camp at the ACFAC, don't blame me if you feel extreme guilt as you reach for the mashed potatoes. And don't come crying to me if the shame of not having that incredible metabolic boost prevents you from eating stuffing.

A couple members of October's Boot Camp approached me again about having a boot camp in December, and thought they could recruit a few others. Does anyone else out there want to do a December Boot Camp?

We'd do it Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday from 6:30 to 7:00 at 360 Gymnastics in Clarkston. It's an easy location to get to, and would offer really neat indoor tools that we didn't have during October.

Shoot me an email or reply to this post (hit "Comment" down below) and let me know if you're interested!

No Boot Camp?!

Due to scheduling complications, it appears as though there will not be a boot camp tomorrow, 11/18, at the ACFAC.

This is their annual shut-down-for-deep-cleaning week, and somehow we both missed that when scheduling.

Super sorry for the mix-up, and as far as I know, we'll have a dynamite, butt-kicker the day before Thanksgiving.

Thus endeth October

October went fast! We started out at 20 degrees F, and ended in shorts. Somewhat backwards, but since we didn't know what to expect, at least we weren't bored.

That's one of the reasons that a boot-camp-style workout does well. If your body hasn't adapted to a certain type of training, you'll keep improving. If you do the same workout week after week for months, your body will find the most efficient way to do the workout, and your improvements will significantly diminish.

During October, participants went from basic plyometrics and exercises to finishing with hurling themselves into the back of a truck and jumping out the other side. We went from basic jogs on the levee to running with 10-pound squash (they were out of pumpkins since it was Halloween) overhead, and doing military press at the same time.

We went from running simple running drills to jumping over hay bales with aforementioned fall fruit in hand. I saw improvement in all participants, especially those who were there at least 2x per week. Participants who struggled for their breath during the first two visits ended the month with wind to spare, and most are continuing the fall and winter with a new look at what their workouts will be.

We'll have 2 Boot Camps in November, both on Wednesdays, and we'll see about December.
If we have one in December, it will be at 360 Gymnastics & Cheer on 15th Street and Poplar in Clarkston. It depends on how the winter unfolds--I'm hoping I have time, because October was a blast, and an indoor boot camp presents all sorts of new opportunities to increase our pain thresholds!
